Application Process
Application is for Teens who are entering grades 5-12. Spaces for grades 5 and 6 are limited. Completing an application does not guarantee you a role at VBS. All applications will be reviewed by Parish Staff, adults, and teachers prior to acceptance.
Commitment Details
Teens are committing to volunteering the full VBS week, Monday - Friday, from 8:45am - 12:15pm PLUS one training session unless you are volunteering for only Decorating and/or Clean-up.
TRAINING SESSIONS (select one within the application):
Thursday, July 9 from 7:00-8:00pm
Friday, July 10 from 11:00am-Noon
Saturday, July 11 from 10:00am - 11:00am
Roles for Teen Volunteers
DECORATING: With adult direction, teens will create RAINFOREST FALLS decorations for the entrance, PAC, and hallways of Saint Raphael's campus. Bring your creativity! Specific dates and times are not yet determined, but will be the week prior to VBS).
CLEAN-UP and STORAGE: With adult direction, teens will assist with the take-down, storage, and clean-up of the campus on Friday, July 17 from approximately 12:30-2:00pm Bring your muscles!
CREW LEADERS are responsible for leading, interacting, and caring for the little ones in their care. Each crew will have approximately 10 children and three crew leaders who will travel the campus together exploring all the RAINFOREST FALLS Stations. Bring your leadership skills!
SNACK STATION Helpers assemble, serve, and clean-up the treats offered to each Crew throughout the week. Bring your culinary skills!
ARTS & CRAFTS Helpers prepare, demonstrate, interact, and organize RAINFOREST FALLS crafts with the Crews throughout the week. Bring your creativity!
BIBLE STORY Helpers may act, move scenery, encourage participation, and set scenes for Bible Stories with the adult in charge. Bring your thespian spirit!
STICKY SCRITPURES Helpers (NEW for 2026!) assist the adult in charge in leading the children in prayer and scripture memorization. Bring your love of God and His Word!
GAMES Helpers assist the adult in charge with demonstrating games, organizing crews, and encouraging participation. Bring your energy!
ANIMATORS learn the songs and "dance moves" from the Lead Animator prior to VBS (dates TBD). During the opening and closing portion of VBS they demonstrate, sing, and encourage participation from the whole group. Animators can also be Crew Leaders or other Station Helpers if desired. Bring your dance moves and singing voice!
TECH/COMPUTER Helpers assist with microphones, music, lighting, and slide shows. Tech helpers can also be Stations Leaders, but not Crew Leaders. Bring your techie knowledge!
