About The Guild

The Guild is comprised of parishioners of all ages seeking to “make things happen.”  We have three ongoing activities and multiple annual events for the parish and our members. See our Events Schedule and Ongoing Activities below.

An Executive Board and Committee Chairpersons, with the help of the Guild’s General membership, plan and organize a variety of events throughout the year. 

The Guild also offers the annual Catholic High School Scholarship Contest for a Saint Raphael 8th graders attending a Catholic High School.

Membership dues are $10.00 per year.

Halloween Costume Collection
October 4th- 18th

We are collecting Halloween Costumes in Good Shepherd Square. Volunteers are needed to empty collection bins and deliver costumes to the West Side Catholic Center. Contact Eileen Ptacek at 440-829-6248 to volunteer.

80th Anniversary Celebration Dinner
Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 5:30pm

Join us as we celebrate our 80th Anniversary at Saint Raphael Parish. We look forward to sharing the evening with friends and member of this exceptional organization. We will talk about the many change the organization has seen and the many charitable organizations that we have been able to help.  As always none of this is possible without you! Winter Coat Collection
Lunchroom | Oct 31-Nov1, Nov 7-8, Nov 14-15

The Guild collects new and gently used winter coats for men, women and children. Coats are donated to the West Side Catholic Center. Volunteers are needed to receive coats after Masses. Contact Patricia Krajcik at 440-781-9478 to volunteer.

Advent Evening of Reflection
Thursday, December 3 at 6:00pm

Parish friends old and new gather for Mass, an inspirational speaker, and a delicious dinner to begin the Holy season of Advent. Volunteers are needed to help with set up and clean up. Contact Pat Dubiel at 440-829-9727 to volunteer.

Poinsettia Sale
Dec 5th and 6th after Masses

Beautiful red, white, and pink poinsettias as well as wreaths and bows will be available for sale. Proceeds support Guild activities. Volunteers needed for sales help after Saturday 4:30 pm Mass and all Sunday Masses. Contact Lynn Merriman at 440-382-0338 to volunteer.

Sweet Street Cookie Walk
December 6 after Masses

Stroll past tables full of delicious sweet treats – cookies, nut rolls, candies – provided by the best parish bakers, and select your favorites. Volunteers needed to bake cookies before the Saturday of the Stroll and to assist after Sunday Masses with sales. Contact Cathy Pastron at 440-949-9078 to volunteer.

Spring Luncheon & Social
Sunday, April 25, 2026 at Noon | Avon Oaks Country Club

Attendees enjoy a lovely luncheon followed by a guest speaker. There are opportunities to bid on great silent auction items and take a chance on raffle baskets. Volunteers can assist with tasks such as soliciting and picking up donations, donating items, mailing invitations, assembling baskets and decorations, setting up, cleaning up, and selling raffle tickets at the event. Profits from the luncheon fund two $1,000 service based scholarships for 8th graders who will be attending Catholic High Schools. The Guild also makes donations year-round to various parish ministries, parish needs, and community service agencies. Contact Cathy Pastron at 440-949-9078 to volunteer.

Guild Scholarship Application

The Saint Raphael Guild is offering two $1,000 scholarships for current 8th grade students who are parishioners of Saint Raphael Church and have been accepted to a Catholic High School. Additionally, the Donna Zgrabik Charitable Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship under the same guidelines.
