A Message from our Pastor

Dear Parishioners and Friends,


Welcome to the digital home of Saint Raphael Catholic Church. Whether you're visiting us for the first time, returning after some time away, or have been part of our community for years, we are so glad you're here!


Our mission, rooted in Jesus' Great Commission and Greatest Commandment, is to invite and connect the people of our community to encounter Christ, to equip them as His disciples, and empower them to love God and serve His people. We find our greatest strength in the Eucharist, where Christ feeds us with His body and blood so that we might become His hands and feet for others. I invite you to let us walk with you on your journey of faith.

We want to help you encounter Jesus Christ, connect you with a community who will support you, and accompany you on your path of discipleship.

Founded in 1946

On September 22, 1946 the first worshippers gathered in the Bay Village High School Auditorium for the first Mass of Saint Raphael Parish. They established the creative and welcoming spirit that still exists today. Who could have envisioned how our parish would evolve? It seems fitting that the first Mass in our first building would be held on December 24, 1948. The most reverential celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ resonated with the birth of our new parish.

From that humble beginning the parish has evolved from serving 165 families to serving approximately 3,700 families and nearly 11,000 members. The parish educates over 600 students in the day school and approximately 400 students in the Parish School of Religion (PSR). Our numerous commissions and ministries strive to meet the needs of an ever-changing faith community.


Through the years, the parish has supported our communal faith through education, spiritual development, liturgy, the sacraments, and social outreach.  With God’s grace and our profound belief, we can live our Roman Catholic tradition by continuing the work of the Lord.


Through the intercession of Saint Raphael the Archangel, who blesses this parish, we continue to build on the tradition that was established by our founders. We journey together as a Christ-centered people.
