Social Concerns Ministry Back to School Drive 2026

June 28 - August 3

This year local urban schools are in desperate need of items for students to start the school year, especially clothing.  Donations are needed by the August 3rd and can be placed in the black bins in Good Shepherd Square.  Thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping the students throughout the area.

St. Martin De Porres needs:

·        Backpacks

·        TI-84 Calculators

·        Single subject notebooks

·        Lined index cards

·        Folders

·        Binders

·        Pens and pencils

·        Colored pencils, markers, crayons

·        Glue sticks

St. Malachi Center needs:

new or like new clothing (without rips or stains) for youth and young adults:

·        Jeans, jogger, leggings, sweatpants,

·        Short or long sleeve t-shirts

·        New socks and underwear

·        Hygiene items

·        all sizes for youth and young adults

Urban Community School, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Holy Name Elementary School, St. Aloysius and Metro Catholic School needs: (Metro Schools may now wear new or like new blue jeans with no holes, all sizes to XL and clothing is needed before school supplies)

·        Polo shirts (short and long sleeve) white, black, light blue and navy

·        Pants – navy or khaki, all sizes to XL

·        Skirts – navy or khaki

·        Shoes – black, gray or white sneakers, child size 1-6 and adult sizes

·        Sweatshirts – solid navy, white or gray

·        Underwear – girls and boys ages 3-9, small thru XL

·        Kids socks – white, blue or black and navy tights and navy knee highs

Plain colored backpacks are needed (empty or filled) along with the following items:

·        2 single subject spiral notebooks

·        1 pack of wide ruled filler paper

·        Package of #2 pencils

·        Glue sticks (4 oz)

·        Crayola crayons (pack of 16 or 24)

·        Pre-sharpened colored pencils (12 count)

·        Washable markers (set of 8)

·        Three pocket folders (bottom pockets)

·        School scissors

·        Pencil pouches

·        Girls hair ties/pony tail holders

·        Clorox wipes

·        Gift cards to Famous Footwear and DSW
