Saturday, Sep 27th from 8 am to 4 pm

The Sisters of Charity Health System (SCHS) has a long history of working in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood and is dedicated to improving the lives of the people that live in the community.  SCHS has partnered with Marion-Sterling (MS), Central neighborhood kindergarden-8th grade Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) school, to provide additional resources and support for the young scholars and educators.

Unfortunately, sixty-five percent (65%) of the school’s 3rd graders are not proficient in reading.  SCHS hopes to help raise the literacy levels by augmenting classroom sessions with an innovative school garden and focused out-of-school programming.  The garden will be an incubator of learning because it will feature a curriculum that is tailored to science, language arts, and sustainability standards.

Join us on
Saturday, September 27th from 8 am to 4 pm to help build the garden and planter beds.  We need your help!

RSVP to Jolyn Parker jparker@cleveleads.org if you are interested in volunteering.

Hope to see you there!!!
